The Insception Story
In 1996, our Founders, in association with the University of Toronto formed Canada's first cord blood bank: the Toronto Cord Blood Programme. In 2004, after many successes operating within Mount Sinai Hospital, the Toronto Cord Blood Programme chose to expand by partnering with Insception Biosciences to raise their cord blood offering to a new and higher level of excellence, all aimed at expanding the potential uses for cord blood samples in the treatment of diseases.
Led by a team of world-recognized research scientists and engineers with faculty positions at the University of Toronto, Insception has an active program in stem cell research and development to complement its cord blood banking service.
Insception Cord Blood Program
Today, Insception operates from a state-of-the-art facility in Mississauga, Ontario and is the largest cord blood program in Canada, with over 33 000 samples banked. By continuing to partner with leading Canadian medical facilities such as Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital, the Insception Cord Blood Program is able to provide every family with the ability to collect and store their baby's valuable cord blood, while the company's Biosciences division focuses on developing new and improved applications for stem cells.
Insception Biosciences - Research and Development
Insception Biosciences is the company's research and development initiative. Its objective is to continue to develop technologies that will improve the utility of cord blood stem cells by expanding the number of stem cells viable from the cord blood units.
