Why choose Insception Lifebank?
A partner for life.
Insception Lifebank is Canada's largest and most experienced cord blood program. Partnered with leading hospitals such as Mount Sinai Hospital and The Scarborough Hospital, Insception Lifebank specializes in preserving your baby’s cord blood so that the beneficial stem cells it provides are always available to your family for medical intervention should you need them.
At Insception Lifebank we understand that when you’re a parent life is filled with “what ifs” – what if I did this, what if I had done that – we’re here to help give you one less “what if” to worry about, and one more option to feel good about. So, in the event the unthinkable happens, we’re your partner for life.
The right experience, expertise and leadership. The right choice.
Starting in 1996, our Founders at Mount Sinai Hospital formed Canada's first cord blood bank: the Toronto Cord Blood Program. In 2004, after many successes operating within Mount Sinai Hospital, the Toronto Cord Blood Program chose to expand by partnering
with Insception Lifebank to raise their cord blood offering to a new and higher level of excellence, all aimed at expanding the potential uses for cord blood samples in the treatment of diseases.
The unique stem cells in your child's cord blood are precious. Someday, you may need them for a life-saving treatment. Therefore, you need to be sure that they have been entrusted to the care of an experienced and reputable cord blood bank. Insception Lifebank has more experience in banking and releasing stored cord blood units for medical treatments than all other cord blood banks in Canada combined. Today, Insception Lifebank has processed and stored cord blood units from over 56,000 babies, making us the largest and most experienced cord blood bank in Canada.
Most samples collected.
Because Insception Lifebank has collected the most cord blood units, healthcare professionals are more familiar with our collection process. This helps ensure a smooth collection procedure during your child’s birth and a better sample volume.
Most medical treatments.
Insception Lifebank has released 24 family-banked cord blood units for medical treatments ranging from life-saving transplants for siblings with Leukemia, to life-changing treatments for Type I Diabetes and Cerebral Palsy. The number of transplants released and used by the transplant facility is indicative of a high quality cord blood facility. The cell processing techniques and storage methods have been validated to provide high cell counts and cell viability for optimum use in medical treatment.
Insception Lifebank specializes only in cord blood processing and is led by a team of world-recognized research scientists and physicians with faculty positions at the University of Toronto.
All staff, equipment and facilities at Insception Lifebank are dedicated solely to the processing and storage of your baby’s cord blood. Unlike other banks, no other types of cells or tissues are stored and preserved, thereby eliminating the risk of errors or contamination by introducing the presence of different and sometimes non-human tissue products into the laboratory process – an important distinction when choosing a cord blood bank.
