Your baby’s cord blood is carefully prepared and processed by our Medical Lab Technologists (MLT). The stem cells are then transferred to a transplant-ready cryoprotectant blood bag for cryopreservation. These special bags can withstand temperatures as low as -196 degrees Celsius. Latest literature has shown that cord blood stem cells remain viable after 24 years of storage in liquid nitrogen.
Our centralized state-of-the-art facility is in Mississauga, Ontario (strategically close to the Toronto Pearson International Airport). The Insception Lifebank laboratory operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In the case of an unexpected emergency, our lab is equipped with on-site back-up systems and advanced security systems
Insception Lifebank Cord Blood Program laboratory is a purpose built facility that is GMP compliant. Quality is very important; we are Health Canada & FDA registered, AABB and FACT accredited. Insception Lifebank has stored more than 58,000 new born cord blood stem cell collections. We have released 25 cord blood stem cell units for transplantation and for clinical trials in cellular therapy, more than all other Canadian banks combined.
